(updated by Paul Tremblay)
Irene took us out last week, so let’s double down with monstery goodness today.
–Cinemassacre’s tongue-in-cheek top 10 movie monster list. Slightly NSFW due to some swearin’.
–In my younger days, I worked at the Parker Brothers factory in Salem, MA for my summer gigs. Usually as a material handler (supplying the assembly lines with pieces) or unloading trucks. For 2 glorious weeks I was paid to test DRAC’S NIGHT OUT, an ill-fated attempt at a Nintendo game. It never made it out. So I feel the gremlin’s pain:
From Movie-line: About 10 years ago, someone thought it might be a good idea to adapt the 1984 hit Gremlins to the video-game realm. And maybe it was a good idea! In practice, however, a new sample from the game’s development phase suggests something went horribly, cheesily wrong along the way.
–Lastly, my favorite, in depth analysis of John Carpenter’s THE THING, including a detailed theory behind the true meaning of the ending (ie. was Child’s infected?). If you are a fan of the film, these two youtube clips are not to be missed. If you haven’t seen the movie, shame on you, and please see it before the crappy ‘prequel’ comes out in October.
